CSI Conference July2006

Welcome to the First conference on Stimulating Corporate Social Investments for sustainable transformation, where we take a long hard look at the following issues...

  • how far we have come as a sector in changing lives of those stuck in the poverty grind?
  • are we learning from each other, are we making a difference, are we creating wealth and are we distributing our CSI budgets fairly?
  • do we still have companies out there who continue with a ‘donations ’culture of handing-over cheques to good causes or have we passed all that and entered the realms of being values based, making the world a better place and forming strategic partnerships that provide long-term solutions?
  • are we talking to the right people, working with the right NPO’s and CBO’s, those who understand suffering and scarcity of resources or are we just sticking to an agenda?
